Newfriars College was delighted to be recognised as a Leadership Academy in partnership with The Association of Colleges (AOC) this year. Newfriars is passionate about developing young people to be both leaders and role models through sport and several of our students have enjoyed an array of ambassador and volunteering roles as part of the programme. Students have been volunteering as leadership assistants at local Primary School Games in the city, supporting Stoke City Football club when they deliver activities both within college and to local schools and importantly inspiring and supporting other students in college to enjoy getting active– particularly those students who may not have previously participated in sport. We are excited to develop this initiative further with links with the RFU Tag Rugby Programme and daily exercise initiatives planned for the coming term.
